How an Asia–America Agricultural Partnership Could Work
A partnership should start with a real business opportunity—not a promise of guaranteed money.
1. Expression of interest
An applicant describes the business, project, market opportunity, experience and resources needed.
2. Initial review
The team considers whether the opportunity fits the initiative's commercial focus and whether the information supplied is credible.
3. Due diligence
Potentially suitable applicants may be asked for business registration, ownership, financial, operational, land/facility and other documentation appropriate to the proposed transaction.
4. Structure
Possible structures include a strategic partnership, joint venture, capital-plus-operations arrangement or supply/distribution relationship.
5. Formal agreement
No partnership should be treated as approved until required checks are completed and appropriate legal documents are signed.
Important
This initiative does not guarantee funding, investment, profits or acceptance. Anyone claiming they can guarantee acceptance or funding in exchange for a fee should not be treated as an authorized representative.
